A new 9,000sqm museum building represented
the next step in the development of the waterfront
Morilla Estate – a site of great cultural significance.
The museum is set into the sandstone hill creating a
visual and physical extension of the landscape, and
a strong relationship between the building and the
environment.
Fytogreen was engaged to create roof gardens on
this $75 million landmark building. Working closely
with Occulus, Fytogreen supplied and installed
approximately 1,400m2 of Semi Extensive Roof
Garden, spread over 5 individual roofs along with
planter boxes around the site.

Fytogreen supplied and installed 1,400m2
of roof garden spread over 5 individual roofs.The lightweight slim roof profile adopted was
130mm deep, using the proprietary Fytogreen from
drainage cell layer upwards; including geofabric.
Hydrocell RG30 50mm layer, Fytogreen sub-surface
drip irrigation system, Hydrocell 40 extensive
media (of clinker ash, composted bark fines and
blue stone), and 10mm blue stone mulch layer and
sedum based plant palette.
